Getting yet closer... It's been a long road to now, although for some, 4 or 5 months isn't long to build a car. Second coat goes onto the inside of everything Monday morning if the rain allows for it (started raining pretty heavy halfway through getting the first coat on. Thankfully the humidity hadn't risen so quickly as the rain hit).

The wheels are not white by the way, they are the same colour as my first car, which was "Aqua Ice" (as opposed to any other kind of ice) and is my own mix. It's simply a particular hue of off-white, until it gets near the average whites.

New shockies, ball joints, fire extinguisher, carpet, decent seat covers, dedicated MP3 stereo radio (no CD/tape) and other things are ready and waiting to be installed, as soon as the paint is hard enough next week.

I'm really happy with the colour now (couldn't help but worry it wasn't going to be like I thought it should be). This colour has a lot of character and to me looks just right on my car...

This is just the first coat. It's all rubbed back smooth again for the final coats. Was going to do it today, but it was too hot to paint and I just wasn't up to it either...

Ok, the main paint is finished now. Last coat went on smoothly today and I'm quite happy with it. I also had the tyres fitted up so it's sitting on it's own feet again instead of the little ones that were on it while painting. Refitting starts tomorrow...

Getting there.

As the title says, It is getting there.
Now that the body work is done and painting is finished , Ti is starting to look like a subaru again.

Time now as steve says , to start to fit it out. Not with ordinary interior, even it has had the steve touch. Parts of the interior are even colour matched to the cars colour.

It will be awhile yet as parts of the interior are yet to be made, Door fabs( custom trims to be added to panels ), etc.

Detail to be added as happen.

Since steve joined our little , ( to be honest , i done know what to call us ) . One local bussiness has called us the subie boys and another one has called us the subaru restorers. As i was saying , since steve has joined us , he has brought a wealth of knowledge and ability with him.
Not to take anything away from him, this project has been done by steve, at a guess, about 80% is all his work.

I am looking forward to starting the refit. To bring the car back to all its glory and more.

Trying to work out what is supposed to hold the bonnet open on an MY Subie. Think I've got it worked out now... (made up brackets to take standard rear struts).

And a couple of pics of the beast sunbaking in the yard today...

Since this project started, most of the step by step has been put on the forum. The amazing thing is , no one has asked what the 2 slots( holes ) are for in the raised roof area above the tailgate. Unless everyone has worked it out.
If everyone has worked it out, I will be surprised if they know the work that is going into what it is.
