Looking really good there nico  Love how you strip n powder coat all the second hand parts and make them like new:D
You are so fortunate to be able to get just about every new OEM part for the old Leone. In Aus we seem to be limited in what new Subaru parts available for the old L series. At least everything I want is NLA :(

pretty lucky to live next door to usa, they got all the old subaru models of cars. in canada the leone 1985 was first subaru years in the country.

I wanted to order new stuff but most of it is becoming NLA world wide which sucks if you need a special part for the cars.

most of the second hand stuff ill be using on my next project which I found a sweet wagon in my version from 1992. ill just swap a jdm motor in it nothing crazy like my Leone.

well people have asked how did I bolt up the coil overs in the rear so easy. in the pictures you can see everything in order.

what kit I used is the HSD STi GRB 08-12 set up, what I keep from my Leone is the top mount bracket and spring perch cap. drill the same size hole as the washer from the HSD kit so the spring perch cap will go on.

then pop out the bushings & tube from the HSD GR STi stuff and use them on your new set up.

the only other thing is the lower mount on a GR STi has a 55mm wide bushing tube, you would need to cut it down to 45mm size to fit in the rear control arm lower. the bolt is the same 12mm size flange bolt so no need for a spacer in the bushing tube.

all put together

so if one is going to be buliding a Leone in the future the best kit to get would be the Subaru GRB STi 08-12 suspension kit. ohlins ? KW ? Bilstein ? future for me for sure

the front you would need the GRB STi 08-12 knuckle with the bolt on bearing which is better they say for its bigger bearing, the top plate will not work unless you drill it out to match your car top mount pattern which is pretty much the same as a 1989-2001 Legacy impreza car pattern.

also the rear in the BRZ is the same as the GRB, the front is the same as a 1989-2001 impreza legacy but the shock is shorter but will work also with the non larger knuckles.

Have you put these stickers on the car yet?
If not, can I ask you to scan them full size & email to me.
You can't get them from Subaru any more & I want to reproduce them
I want to do "fulltime 4WD TURBO RX" for mine, but could do a few combinations.

I'd wanna see some samples first.
I got sent a link to a page of someone in the US who'd done some up.
But, hadn't done the "RX", nor "full-time 4wd" part
And made the "4" in 4wd look like an "A" by not doing it correctly.

i cant put them on, my factory TURBO sticker is like 2 inch bigger and will make the 4wd part look to small..

I can order these in canada still there might be more..

I cant sell these ones I'm using them for my next build the Leone wagon.

how do you want me to scan them ?

lots and lots of work went down so far, for the front I changed the rubbing in the pockets of the control arms which alone made the car feel amazing... I stripped everything out and under coated it all along with wrapping my exhaust well worth it all even though its a pain.

all the sand blasted powder coated stuff was add along with the upgraded bushings and oem subaru bolts.

Image

the only thing missing now is the front GR sti knuckle bearings, the sti sealed bearings are being made into 5x100 from 5x114 thanks to my good friend that owns a machine shop

Image

super rare no longer made front bumper clips got made from a 3D printer collage kid which made them so good there better then the real ones.. he used some hard plastic and chemical to harden the clips so they last long.

Image

looks amazing now with the second trim on the top of the bumper very happy now.

Image

with all the new bushings repaired shocks & fixed cross member, it feels amazing drives like its on rails ! point and shoot now feel ! ... I still need a corner balance & alignment done so it will only get much better.

Image

straight from japan !! this is the holy grail of part numbers for my car. with this book and part numbers all I can say is WOW WOW..... there is a boat all read in bound from japan to canada with my new parts on it like the JDM skirt kit, the jdm air dam along with much much more things for this car and my other build the Leone Wagon.

The "Turbo" or "RX Turbo" are supposed to be bigger than the "4wd" part.

If you can find out if they have "RX TURBO fulltime 4WD" stickers, that would be awesome.
Both the sides, rear & front.

I can PM you an email address.
Is the backing sheet clear for the stickers? If so, can you lay it over a grid?

I've traced one off a car here now, so it's not so important any more.

WOW! I wish the underside of my L looked that good... But I guess the underside of your L hasn't seen the sort of things mine has

I was also thinking - if you have a frame to hold the rear diff in tight you'll find the drive train even more responsive! A mate of mine made one with some old L series swing arms (I believe) and a bash plate. The arms bolted to the bash plate, the bash plate bolted to the diff and the other end of the swing arms mounted to some tight rubbers mounded on the K frame beside the current swing arms, they were the old mounting points of the original donor K frame.

I hope that makes sense. He reckoned it eliminated all torque twist of the rear diff...

Drooool :D

Sorry to read bout Leone meeting with guard rail, but in light of it all you've done a fantastic job! The bolt up rad support is a good idea.
One bad turn leads into a good turn

I want your Leone sedan!!
