It would be interesting to see how much more/less petrol its putting in, so you can compare that to what you are doing.
Even if you soldered, hope we havn't got out of your tool range yet:), pins to a couple of bits of insulated wire. Then strip an inch off the other end, wrap it around itself and poke them into the dmm (refer Jonno) terminals.
Make them long enough to reach to the front and off you go.
L serious, still.

I think a good idea is to make up a 4 wire cable different colours and terminals. as you said strip back some wires from the MAF and TPS and solder female terminals to them ready for the 4 wire cable. would save taking off those pesky clips and connectors.

I'm taking a break now. I'm bit burned out and have health issues. Will be riding Tweety for a while then swing into it again in a short time.

Gotta check out the codes also- 35 and 31. check the TB harness for those resisters etc. I'm happy with my progress though.

I reckon Tony is well qualified to hook up an O2 sensor reader, something from ebay or even a PEEL instrument jobbie. Neat little plastic box with pretty colours to watch as your fueling changes.

I run a DP200 permanently on my EA82T LPG. The DP400 is another natty little device - like an installed DMM stuck on duty cycle !

The DP200 might be a bum steer for petrol 14.7:1 coz it is preset for 15.5:1 LPG happy burn rate (for polllution)

It's nothing fancy, just a resistor, commonly used to trick ECU's into thinking that a sensor is behaving normally when it isn't actually there, for example a cat convertor or EGR sensor.

Yeh I gathered that Jordan. The loom at the TB is now covered in electrical tape. going to have to take the tape off and look at it. There was one resister hooked up there. But there was also a couple of wires- maybe for the EGR stuff for California anti pollution stuff. anyway I'll look at it in a while when I return to the dungeon of the trike engine bay. :D

I thought there were two of these on that loom? Time to find where this one should be?

Tony, just a thought with your codes, most of the EA models say code 35 is the purge solenoid, although 84-86 say its air flow meter.

I know With EJs even if there is no charcoal canister (my bug is exempt too) it still needs the purge solenoid there and connected or a resistor to fool it into thinking the valve is connected so it doesnt throw the code.
I'm sure EA management would be the same.

I just have the valve sitting there with no hoses connected.

Thanks Joel. yeh gotta strip back the tape covering the TB loom in that area and have a look. cant recall the wiring there but there was one resister and I have the one left over. will see in the next week or two. have battery and alt issues ATM then I'll see. Get it going and visit Tambox for some work on it. regards. Tony

A few days off and I'm feeling like doing a bit on the trike.

Made up this board. Fitted female connectors to the injector, MAF and Throttle sensor. Then 5 feet of wiring to this board.

So Tambox (Greg) will be delighted to hold this board on the back seat of Tweety to monitor sensors.

Note female connectors.

This resister was in place on the kit as part of the TB harness.

This plug was vacant and is the purge solonoid connector. so a resister has now been installed on that.

Code 35 now gone (purge). Code 31 (throttle sensor) still going but havent tried to cancel code yet.

i wonder if a supercharger would resolve your speed limit problem :)

Most modern efi mpfi systems in use use an injector cut out when throttle is closed and above about 1500 rpm. Something to ask Pillion Greg to check up one way or t'other when your current problem is sorted. This feature could help with fuel consumption concerns with the SC set up before ???

Jonno, the SC is buried in a box ready for sale.

The box is in the shape of a coffin....:D

Before I could ride Tweety to Tambox's place to sort out some MAF and TPS issues I had to fix a wheel bearing problem.

A rear wheel bearing was replaced only 10 weeks ago and the torque required was 217 lbs. yep you read right 217. huge tightness. So tweety went back to the engineers. When he took the split pin off the axle nut the nut easily spun off. So why was this?

Talking to guys on aussieveedubbers it can happen often. one guy torqued his up to 300 lbs and it was only finger tight after a short time.

Lesson learned. The bearings were fine.

When we are both mutually "free" tweety's SPFI will be looked at. Its running ok but needs tweeking.

115 seems easy. but then if you go full throttle there is nothing. the improvment has been from adjusting the TPS down to the ohms its suppose to be. now when the new MAF goes in I'm hoping we will have a lot of improvement. ohms on the MAF were 3.4 and suppose to be 5.

I assume the better MAF with the correct ohmage will tell the ECU to release more fuel.
