Bought an immaculate one owner 2018 Outback 3.6R on Tuesday. After doing some research decided to give it the ceramic coating treatment. After talking to a few friends who have had their cars done for around $1800 I researched DIY. Settled on the Auto Glym brand, followed all the directions and watched several videos. Two washes, fallout solution (iron remover), clay bar, polish where required then the CC. Let it cure in the garage for 24 hours. Car was then left in the driveway and it rained overnight but it still looks amazing and the surface still feels slick and oh so smooth. Time will tell if it lasts the 12 months estimated by AG. For $1800 you get a 5 year guarantee. IMO there is nothing quite like the satisfaction of doing it yourself and seeing the result.
