Hi all

Post by Boom29 » Wed Jun 20, 2012 6:16 pm

Thought I'd say hi to everyone as i'm new here. I've been using this site quite a bit trouble shooting my '91 L-series, so I thought I should probably join up. I've had my L-series for 4 years now, and due to studies it looks like I'm going to be keeping it for a while 'til I can afford to trade up. Since I'm keeping it, i may as well get it going as best I can. I'm based in Melbourne, and I'll post some photos when i can find some decent ones. That's all for now.

Well welcome to "the other side" of the forum!

Plenty of info about the L - I doubt you'll be getting rid of it anytime soon, even when you don't need it anymore ;)

Cheers

yeah, the car was bought for 3k, and I've already spent way more than that on it, so getting rid of it doesn't make sense. And the lil guy has a special place in my heart now after many hours spent working on it.

I know how that goes mate! Very well. Although mine was a project from the start - I didn't know it had a shot engine, just thought it was a set of head gaskets. Either way, for $500 I'm not complaining!

Got some pics of your L?? We all love a good visual aid!

Cheers

Welcome mate.
I have a red 91 L series. Awesome little car. Mines up for sale although I don't want to. Just cant afford having it and my Forester while being at uni.
I just got off my P-plates too :D

Through in a ej22 and 3" lift along with some 26" tyres and your set!

Often thought about throwing an ej22 in, but never seem to have the time and money required at the same time. Running a motorbike as well as the car and playing a hideously expensive sport seem to suck all my money pretty quickly

I did my EJ conversion while still at uni - do plenty of research so you know what you're doing; know what you need to get and start shopping around in those small pockets of spare time.
I think it took me about 18 months to do mine from when I started the loom cut down - the "hardest part" for the first timer - get that right and you should be sorted for the rest if you know how to spin a spanner and work with mechanical things. So 18 months from the start of the loom cut to driving it out of the shed, "EJ'd"
Now it goes like an L series should have from the factory IMO!

Cheers
