Post by ratters » Thu May 31, 2012 1:45 pm

Half the fun of buying a new car = finding a new forum :)

So i bought an '89 L series wagon and already got a growing list of 'improvements' to do.

Cheers!

PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

welcome to the boards man, I'm fairly new myself (and still haven't received the brumby I bought from QLD.. it's on a truck) but have a 97 Liberty (stock bar wheels)

what's on your list of things to do?

best thing I have found with the late 80s models is they're pretty easy to work on yourself if you have the right tools. This forum is a huge wealth of knowledge, and they have the Gregory's manual somewhere if you needed a copy. (found it the other day but nfi the link now)

Yeah it is! I turned a $500 L series into a "money pit" with the build - over a few years though, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

You'll love the L series after you've got better seats, a bigger engine, lift, bigger tyres and a decent sound system. No one's mention EJ's here specifically Jonno... :D

Enjoy, there's much to read and many brains to pick, so if you can't find the info someone here might know where it is or know it themselves ;)

Cheers

Well i'm glad you fellas are a wealth of knowledge coz i have plenty of questions! Although im not a total subi n00b, I had a '90 liberty kitted out with WRX fun parts for a couple of years until i sold it to fund an OS holiday.

Just coming from a hilux with 350 chev too, so its quite a hard adjustment to be slower and lower to the ground but im getting used to it!!

Nice!!!
I love those things! A Mate's, Bro's, friend has a kingswood wagon on a hilux chassis (or patrol not sure) with a 350 chev in it.
If you want some power that will rival the chev, you will need to EJ it. Well thats if you want to keep it subaru.
Thinking bad thoughts here.... 350 chev in a subaru. Bahahahaha.
From your previous cars, it sounds like you might be going to do some heavy modding.
Can't wait for things to come.

Cheers Cam
