How do you wire at new stereo in,had it working but only if the headlights were on :/

I'd get hold of a wiring diagram for your year model + the head unit pin outs - should then be a matter of finding all relevant wiring & match them up.

Depending on how you want it to work, most units require key in ignition - turned to the accessories position to work. ( secondary power for clock )

So def' something amiss with it only working on headlights ... :/

Plus there's heaps of 'help threads' out there to read up / search on the subject too ... ;)

You've tapped into the radio illumination wire which only works when the parkers or headlights are on. Did you check wire voltages with the headlights on?

All the wires you need should be in the stez plug with exception to permanent power which can be sourced from the clock or a new wire to the fuse box (with it's own fuse of course!).
