GX-204KH with GROM-IPD3 - MY07 Outback

Post by viper » Mon Apr 02, 2012 3:07 pm

Just picked up a Oct 2006 (MY07) Outback 2.5i Manual with the GX-204KH 6 stack stereo.

Has anyone here successfully confirmed that the GROM-IPD3 from cushie audio http://www.cushieaudio.com.au/subaru-ipd3.html works with the Kenwood GX-204KH to control/integrate the iPhone and bluetooth?

I haven't pulled the Radio out yet to confirm the stacker data plug is on the back that the GROM will connect to.
So if anyone has a pic of the available sockets that would be handy too.

I figured this was a much better investment for ~$185 (bluetooth, charging, and 3.5mm AUX) than the Subaru 3.5mm AUX only cable kit.

Cheers
Tim.

An update to this. I did infact buy the GROM -IPD3 and it works a treat.
Came with a harness splitter that plugged into the stacker control port on the back of the factory stereo.
the bluetooth works well. and I've got the ipod dock cable coming up the hole where the transfer lever is in the Outback.

Unfortunately I don't at the moment.
I'll try and get some of the unit and where the cable/bluetooth is as I can get to those without taking the stereo out.

cushieaudio is where I got the grom from as well.

I got the unit + harness which are the base pieces
Then added on the iPod 5ft 30min cable, and the bluetooth+mic as extras

inc shipping it was just over $200 to my door, in 2 days.

This is exactly what I'm looking into at the moment. I've got the same stereo (GX-204KH). Glad to hear it is working well! Only thing is I'm hoping to get the new 'lightning' adapter for the new iPod.
