hey, ive recently fitted some new 3 way pioneer 6 inch speakers into the rear of my lib and when the cd player is faded all the way to the back they sound pathetic. I want to keep my speakers in the door but the sound quality is just horrible. Im not sure if its just because the speaker needs to be in a more sealed/smaller enclosure or if the speakers are just crap.
I was thinking about making a cylindrical sealed enclosure out of large stainless tube and sheet that fitted into the speaker cutout in the door then the speaker would just screw into that. Has anyone ever had this trouble before? if so any suggestions on how to fix it would be great
cheers

Why bother with the rears?
Put a decent set of splits (not Pioneer, Sony etc) in the front doors with sound deadening, and have the rears faded to basically off.
Then amp the splits later.

You don't want to spend much? You can get a set of the DD (Digital Designs) DDc6.5 for about $200.
Also look at Hertz and Focal (might sound tinny thou, some people like the tweeters, others don't).

If you want to spend alot (and I mean alot, from $800 - $2k), look into Boston, Morel, high end Focals (same deal with the tweeters thou) Rainbow and Diamond.
