uniden are alright theres probaly a better option on the market tho


it says it only splash proof tho so dont no how well it would go in the boat

I saw one advertised in a fishing mag the other day that says it floats. I don't remember brand name. I will have a look at see if I can find it again.

Icom IC-M33. I don't know if it is any good but being 5w it is as powerful as any you can buy. http://www.icom.net.au

I can get you one of these for around $150 delivered to your door. they obviously wont be of the same calibre as teh icom but its something to compare against.

if you want something to keep on your person for emergencies, i reckon its got to be waterproof. Icom is the way to go
