oil leak fixer

Post by steptoe » Mon Sep 28, 2015 11:13 pm

my old faithful 4 speed 4WD box in my Brumby developed a bit of a leak when I ran the Castrol oil for older boxes ...VMX ? The front seal would bleed sewing machine thin oil when parked nose down steepish streets or driveways. I got rid of new Castrol oil and went for Nulons 80 grade box oil that dribbled almost as freely as the Castrol - nothing like the 80W90 of old ...added 60ml per capacity litres of Nulon Engine Stop Leak as advised by tech guys at Nulon.

Tonight, parked nose down a brand new concrete driveway and later thought oh shugar - gonna have to come back with some degreaser ...looked underneath and to my surprise - not a bleeding drop on new driveway. Oil be welcome back eh ? :) The stuff must work at swelling and softening hard to replace seals :)
