Looks good and the best thing is that it's just non slip fibreglass reinforced poly grid mesh. Used in place of steel grid mesh in most wet areas. I look at it everyday and have never thought of using it like maxtrax.

Could maybe get my hands on a heap of it in yellow...will post back.

wow impressive product. Certainly worth looking in to the Envirowalk supplier. It might be cheaper to get some from them. Looks like the same stuff but in yellow. They even have a photo of some of it under a 4x4. Perhaps in bulk size and cut it down ourselves - group buy anyone?? :)

The Gratemates are apparently $245 for the pair.

Would be great if the GrateMate & Maxtrax designs could be incorporated into one, so we could have the best of both worlds.

An idea for anyone who is not rolling in money. Mate of mine who does a lot of beach driving cuts up a milk crate into its 5 panals, cable ties them together so that they form a line and uses them under his wheels if he gets bogged. When finished he just folds them up and throws them in the back of his ute. I was amazed at how well these things worked and apart from a bit of elbow grease and 5 finger discount they were free! Obiously not in the same league as the gratemates but not bad for 0$.

old surfboards work good as well but tend to diminish the quality of the finish of the surfboard and bread crates do the same job as well

Just recently I have seen many patrols dig their way into sand dunes then have to reverse out and try again :)
