Another update, seems like I'm always needing to upgrade something!
Now running a 95 Impreza gearbox, so far its holding up ok. Added a Perrin short shifter to the linkage also.
Also installed BC Racing coil overs all around, it really improved the handling.

Installed 2 10in fans in front of the rad for cooling.

LED dome light.

Also installed a fuel cut defender. It fools the ECU into thinking the same amount of air is being drawn in, so now I can get the boost up to 15-16lbs.
But that causes other problems for me now. My clutch is toast :-(
Will be upgrading that to a ACT HD setup soon. Then I will upgrade the brakes, going 4 pots from a RS up front.

I've only just noticed this photo - have you got AC with those fans fitted as well? I'm keen to know as I may do the same thing with my L rather than having a very tight fit with the fans behind the radiator.

Love your coupe, keep up the great work! I'd love to have an RXII!!

Was the spider manifold the original fitment?
If not, was there any trouble adapting it (wiring, etc)?

I've got one to go into my Touring Wagon, but I've got to figure out the NA body wiring loom with the turbo engine loom & turbo ECU

Do a search on discopotato03's threads. He put a spider manifold into his RX and I think it involved rotating the throttlebody.

If you car was an 88 or 89 touring wagon it would be much easier because of the way the later 4 plug ecu is wired

LHD cars have a cross flow AC core, not a reverse flow like us. The condensor/dryer sits on the bracket that holds the EFI airbox.
Unfortunately for them, it also means that there is a fixed (ie aluminium) A/C pipe running across the firewall just above the gearbox. Just ripe to get crushed when pulling an engine.

Disco had to use his three pluggers throttle body on the spider manifold to make it all work, but don't think he reversed the manifold direction at all - never got to see photos as he never was able to contribute on that level :)

I said rotate the throttle body, not reverse the manifold.

The issue is that the 3 plug ecu has its idle switch on the accelerator pedal and a throttle switch that activates at half throttle whereas the 4 plug system has an idle switch and a potentiometer on the throttlebody.

I guess you could use a voltage sensitive switch to convert the throttle position sensor signal to just a relay that activates at half throttle, it would save swapping throttle bodies

Throttle body was turned 180deg because of the way the linkage operated.
Also, the plug for the TPS was different like mentioned above. I believe I had to remove the wires from my original 4 wire plug to fit the 3 wire plug. This was a few years ago so I cant recall what I did exactly. At my age, its hard enough to remember what I ate for breakfast
My a/c condenser is in the original location (in front of rad), thats why the fans are up front.
I didnt cut the rad support in order to install the Legacy Turbo rad, so tolerances are very tight between engine and rad.
Also, seeing how I have a cold air intake, I have plenty of room for the drier.
Never had a issue with pinching the a/c line that runs along the back either.
Guess I'm not sloppy ;)

And a fairly recent pic for you all to drool over...

drooooooolllllll

Love the way you can fit the spotties into the turn signal area on your bumpers.
No chance of doing that here.
Been trying to source some of the US spec front side markers, cos they don't have the raised turn signal part. Had no luck so far...

Damn!!!
more goodness

Did the amber sections originally have globes in them? Or are they just reflectors?

If globes, just make me a set of those :p

Now, if I can just figure out how to make a set of wagon taillights clear....
