1984 Subaru Brumby (a customers car that came in today)
I thought I recognised that dealership... And I agree at least a B&S ute is driven (And normally hard) not another show pony yhat gets trailered from place to place because no matter how much you pay for it its still a car and thats their purpose And its not a redneck ute but a B&S ute A redneck is generally an american hick! and it is a tidy looking bullbar.

Last time I checked NSW specs ( Along while ago) it was 100% tint maximum for the back window But most trucks and heaps of utes don't have a rear view mirror in the centre, mine included and they still pass rego just fine!Subyroo wrote:I thought there was a road rule stating the amount of visibility you were allowed to have via the rear window?
There's not much on that Brumby.

A lot of people think what we do to our cars is insane i agree with the quote it mightn't be what i like but they like it.32ford wrote:nothing the matter with a B and S ute, a lot of those guys have the attitued of "get f****d I am having fun with my car, I dont give a Sh*t what you think." and I reckon that is the same attitude most people on this board have towards "proper" four wheel drives.

We used to be able to get snow tread tyres over here but because not many people use 13 inch rims anymore they may be harder to get but you could always try some 14's or Peugeot 15's. I have seen them with irrigator tyres on the brumby/MV1800 they look identical to tractor tyres except smaller although apparently they don't work well on the front!

what you might want to do is get friendly with a local rally driver and steal a set of his dry weather tyres not exactly legal for the road but funsholinguteman wrote:Can anybody tell me what tyres that Ute is liable to be shod with ? cant find any Knobbly type tyres (of the correct size) here in England "MO"
and make sure he uses 13" or as Tex suggested "find" some Pug rims of the correct size

Who would that be? My in-laws live at Taylors Arm and I'm quite often out there. There are numerous Brumby's that travel that road. All in various states of dis-repairrevmax wrote: edit A bloke at work who I done my apprentiship with bought a 89 model in 91 with 70,000ks on it he sold it about 8 years ago with over 500,000 on it and it is still going up and down Taylors Arm Road today, on the original donk and the owner WONT sell it back to me mate.

Gotta Love a good B&S ute. Now all it needs is a few RM Williams mudflaps and a flag on the UHF.
