Just wondering as title asks if known to be interchangeable just used same as shorter word for I know they are not exackery the same due to the welded on cup washer facing opposite ways between the two. Have confirmed they are very similar in length and the bolt holes to transverse link (lower control arm) line up between this L radius rod (leading rod) I have and spare MY LCA

Please share your knowledge on this...

Going to check Pedders web site on part numbers for radius rod bushes between L and MY .....

#2

just spit this out of memory Control V

Radius Rod Bush
9-171 9-171 Strut bar - to chassis

for the Brumby radius rod bush and L series is different part number - may be due to different size hole ??

part 3

a quick call to Mr pedder reveals this part number is listed for 84 Brumby but can also use the part number for L Series 1025/26 or 1026/25 looking number without MY crush tube ! Two part numbers are listed for L Series, with the second number not recommended by them as not such good fit - must be some L Series differences in themselves

chapter 4

Follow up is the L radius rod is in using L rubbers and felt no different really in its fit and car , rather , ute has been test driven and feels good. Until I pull other MY straight one out and compare with my second L radius rod I can only suspect they are same, other than MY being about 17mm dia and L is a bit over 18mm diameter, and the washer dish face direction

Gonna treat it to new Mr Pedders L bushes before a wheel alignment

Five

Further follow up now with time to pull a good one and compare, an MY MV Brumby rod measure about 5 or 6 mm longer between where it counts , compared to the L radius rod - the L has been a good interim fit and I do not like Mr Pedders in store notation that L Series urethane bushes can be used in Brumby.

This instore notation they have quoted is the second time I have been led down the garden path - they fit but the little bit that fits through the hole in back mount may need trimming coz it not fit correctly. Time to order correct bits! Another yellow card for Pedders First one was their notes on springs and shocks replacement for air bag of rear of 4WD Vortex

yet another follow up , don't bother trying to find 9-171 with Mr Pedder - has none in Australia !
Went with superpro SPF1098K for the Brumby as the ones designed for L Series noted above 1025/26 etc - even though they have a step in one bush to fill the void between radius rod and chassis mount itself, the steps diameter is too big and does not fill or cushion the radius rod from hitting the chassis mount when installed. Now getting info from Mr Pedder that it was the other L Series bush kit that could be used in Brumby - it did have a noticeably smaller ID of the bush so not going down Pedder Road at this stage.

Seeing SPF1098K rang a bell - have fitted them before to my older Brumby so all should be god. the tech guys at super pro think the little step may not be needed due to the external dimension of the bush locating itself in the chassis mount and being so rigid not allow any unwanted movement.
