so i picked up some outback strut tops today and put one side in the rear which now seems to sit lower then i would have thought which made me think about the top spring mount set-up of liberty in the front and outback in the rear.... basically in the front the liberty has the top spring mount and then a strut top connected on top of that where as the outback tops in the rear are one complete unit which is "counter-sunk" into the centre of the spring... so i'm thinking that the differences may account for a height difference of 1-2" in the end.. anyone who has played with both 2nd gen outback and 1st gen libertys could you confirm this or anyone who has some thoughts on it please feel free to speak up as i dont want to put the other rear in if it's worth trying to get hold of some 1st gen lib ones cheers.

the rear wheel arches are lower than the front.
measure your sill clearance in front of the rear wheel and behind the front wheel and then see if you think it is still out of whack

there is about an inch difference between the bottom of the car in front of the rear and the bottom of the car behind the front.. not alot but noticable to the eye.. enough to annoy me anyway
this is the different set-ups,
one on the right being the outback tops left the old set-up that came off the car.. which by my estimate give about n inch of difference which means a waste of $80 and 90minutes of driving to pick them up today.. and still need the old set-up for a liberty to go in

I used to have those strut tops. that is an airbag top with a spring hat added to convert to coil springs. your car was obviously converted form airbags to coils at some stage.

+1 as being not standard gen 1 or gen 2 tops, look nothing like what i've played with.
