Anyone got any thing good or bad to say about either of these shocks?
KYB Excel g's and the Monroe Super Sport?
Price is very similar for both after a nice discount (thank you subelover)
Any details about rebadging, manufacture, etc most welcome.

Ive just bought Outback's KYB Excel G's - they look alright to me, one thing I wanna point - Subaru did use KYB in their cars so I'd rather use what Subaru used. Monroe are actually alright
Cheers

I got my Brumby with the Monroes on it, I think they were on there for about a year before I got it. After 3 years of hard offroading they were perfectly fine, sold now so not sure how their going still..
Although I'd probably get KYB's as I know them as a good brand and I have heard a few things bad about Monroe shocks.

I've used both brands from brand new through to a few years old. The KYBs were better, and still are because they haven't needed replacing yet.
Be sure to get the models to suit later L series. The ones to suit 85/86 didn't seem as heavy duty. No point in getting them because the L series body is the same anyway.

Where's a good place to get KYBs in Perth? A while back Odin Autos quoted me $245 each for fronts, but I didn't think to ask what brand they were. Is that a reasonable price?

Thanks Guys,
KYB's were the prefered option, but I've never used the monroes so thought i would ask. Never used one set of kyb's for long enough to give them a just assesment either.
Did notice the difference in part no's between early and latter L, didn't have both in stock so couldn't physically compare them unfortunatly. Thanks for the heads up Andrew.
Swag load of kyb's and kings now on the way, christmas for some tassie members!
