1994 Subaru Imprezza Wagon EJ18 with the electronic height adjustable shocks

The front shocks are leaking from the air sealing boot. Ive been told they are a non-servicable item.
Is it possible to replace the front suspension with regular non height abjustable shocks?? Will the rear ones need to be replaced also?

I was told by a subaru dealer that all four shocks have to be replaced even though the rear ones are working fine. And that it cant have height adjustable shocks on the rear, with regular at the front.

maybe I've been looking at the wrong cars but unfortunately most of the early libs now have standard shocks in them!
