lift kits

I hav a 91 L series enduro and im just wondering wats the best lift kit to be putting on it.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

depends what you define as the best.
quality?
size?
most shiny?

The most popular size would have to be 3". It's a great improvement for offroading and seems to be just right. People who get a 2" are quite often forever wishing they went for the extra inch.

can anyone recommend where i can get a lift kit from around the newcastle/sydney area?

can i fit '04 16in ford courior steel wheels with 28x7inch rubber with a 3inch lift kit?
i understand about doing the 6stud conversion and some trimming of the fenders etc

How much does a 3 inch lift affect the road handling? Compared to a 2 inch?

pm sent, still no reply. Is there anyone else possibly? I talked to the local pedders place and they didnt wanna touch it. Going on about all this stuff yet all i could keep thinking about is it cant be all that bad cause so many people here have a 3inch lift! Anyway, anyone else i can try?

the only thing 2" vs 3", is that for 2" you could get DOT type approved ( well when I got mine yrs ago - not sure about byb thou, i'm sure he can clarify)
3" would need engineers report to be compliant, doubt anyone bothers tho.
for 3" the COG is theoretically higher. Still as these body lifts don't change any suspension dimensions, the handling should be the same, Except The higher COG + usually your higher profile wheels/tyres you certainly notice going round corners, but what do you want a road hugging sports car or a off-roader, decide.
As for listening to your local pedders place, huh! they are full of it, BS that is. Seems they are good at employing BS'ers wherever they are.

obviously i want a off roader. Yeh the car will be my daily driver and not expecting it to handle like its on rails. I just wanna be able to tacke most things i wanna do and i think with the slight bigger tyres and lift it will do everything i want it to do. So a lift kit on these technically is just a body lift and not a suspension lift? Thats fine if its just a body lift the bigger tyres will give me the rest of the height im intending to use it for . So who else should i ask. Byb or something was his name yeh?

BYB01's name is Brett, give him a pm...

Body lifts only lift the vehicle body, doesn't lift diff axel etc. (does not effect the wheel angles)

Suspension lifts, simply lift everything obviously. (but stresses are higher on cvs, knuckles etc.)

anyone recommend what shocks and springs work well with the 3inch lift? i got told you can only use a certain type of shock with lifted subies?

Best option for a 3" body lift is to contact Suby Wan Kenobi, and be patient (he's a tad busy doing some work on my Brumby this week).

SWK will also be able to advise you regarding struts and springs.

Most of us seem to use KYB (OEM) and King Springs. New Kings and KYB's at all 4 corners should cost you around 800. Shop around though as prices do vary a bit depending on where you buy.

i really just want a price atm so i can start saving for the whole combo of lift kit, wheels and tyres

how much is suby wan charging you for the kit?

Sorry mate, I can't give you an accurate pricing for a 3" lift kit as my Brumby already had a 2" lift fitted when I bought it.

SWK is doing some engine and gearbox work for me.
