I've recently replaced afuel pump on my 92 liberty AWD wagon. Now it runs really well, most of the time. Every now and then the engine loses all power; it doesn't stall, but won't drive the car.Fuel filter was replaced too, can't find any petrol leaks. The other thing i've noticed is that the "check engine" warning light stays on sometimes. Is this related to the ECU? Can anyone help?

It may end up being un-related to the fuel system replacements you've made.
If the check engine light is comming on then you need to find out what it means. If you look under the dashboard, near the steering collumn there should be a couple of electrical connectors next to each other which fit together. if you plug these together then turn the ignition on then the check engine light will light up with a series of flashes. Write the sequence down. There may be more than one distinct sequence in a row which means it's showing more than one error code.
I think there is a place on the forum here somewhere with lists of the codes and what they mean, do a search for this.

Thanks. I've come up with error code 35, which relates to the purge control solenoid.
