EA82T Boost Cut out

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what the boost is supposed to be set at as the cut out keep cutting in, so the boost is obviously is running too high.

my boost cut off kicks in at 9.5 psi...but it can be bypassed somehow

There are two vacuum solenoid thingys on the rh strut tower (assuming its the flapper type airflow meter ea82t). One is for the boost light, the other is boost cut. Just take the vac lineoff/unplug it if you don't want it to work.

what happens when boost cut happens? does the car just jolt like fuel has been cut?

thats what mine does then if you back of an slowly push it a bit harder its fine... i havent got increased boost though?

only a pod and 2.5" exhaust

thats a bit wierd...fuel issue??....boost cut should only take effect at 9.5psi...unless the boost cut solenoid is farkd

im not sure what it is...only just got it back on the road as it did a bearing in the turbo...

rs intercooler is nearly mounted now aswell

looks like boost cut it was.. disconnected boost cut switch and she doesnt cut out... i reckon it was boosting over the standard amount because the bearing in the turbo was shot....

Just for a point of intrest,... i know that there arent many 4plug ecu turbos around, but the boost cut on a 4 plug ecu is activated when mass air flow reaches a set figure. not from boost level. Because you can defend the boost cut by putting a resistor in the air flow meter circuit.

Yeah i wanna see this rs intercooler setup
