Never seen that tech thread before, some interesting stuff on it. Quite a few of those pages are just spam links? There like 500 pages of entries from two I.P addresses that is total spam.

I did notice the rest of it had been dtuffed by some dickhead. I will spend a bit of time trying to straightening it out.

I think this wiki needs to be passworded. Edits were I had changed stuff back to what it was suppose to be, has been hacked again.
What is everybodies thought about this?

needs to be pass worded and name linked with the forum. But its mediawiki and has weaknesses in this area.
Rather disappointing because I did some pages in there too, all crapped up now.
If it is to be revived, it might be best to see if there is a backup say 2 or 3 or even 4 years old - before spammers got to it.

Password would be good, it could be made readily available via PM for anyone who wants to contribute.

Have tried to fix a few more pages on the wiki. It I think needs the admins to password protect this wiki. There is some good info here being trashed and therefore lost to the rest of the group. I might have a look at trying to copy the good stuff to my harddrive so that we have a clean copy.

Well it looks like we are going to lose the Subby Manual. I have tried repairing it but it still gets hacked. I have given up on doing that as I seem to be the only one that cared. So I suggest the Admins (if there are any) close it down.

Stephen I brought this up a while ago, I don't think it is a person I believe it is a trojan/virus/program that writes a script once it realises the text has been changed. It was probably put in place by someone who doesn't even have to come to the page to make sure the script is working.

if all of the remaining information was transfered to the tech manual section on the board it would be unhackable.

I do believe there are updates available for the wiki progam to stop this but it is up to the person hosting the wiki to put these in place.

Hopefully someone with admin privileges needs to fix the problem. There is nothing I ,as a humble member, can do to fix it. So it seems we will see this info just disappear.

well it seems that the Tech Manual is going the way of the dinosaurs. A few times I have tried to fix it. Not having it password protected, and the software not being updated is were the problem is. I have decided not to try and fix it any more, pointless if the admins of the site don't want to protect this valuable resource why should I spend my time trying to. The info is still there if someone has the patients to extract it and turn it in forum posts.
But it seems the owners of the site are not worried.

Well it seems the tech manual has gone. What a waste of the time and effort of the people that contributed to this endevour. If only the admins had managed to protect it a bit better.

and before these error codes it was pretty messed up in there. As Jonno said above, it's a shame it's ended up this way, but those spammers got in there and shot it all up...

Cheers

Sadly if one of the active members had administrator rights to the tech manual this could be repaired.
