List of Subaru Transmissions ...

by Bantum
Following on from the successful list of Subaru Engines, are you Interested in a list of Transmissions from Subaru ?

I will compile a short list here ... ;)

Note : I've used references from Wikipedia, Subaru + others on here to compile the list.

For ID purposes, there is usually a sticker or part number stamped on the box ...

Image

I've broken them down into the following categories :
Generally - I've shown the 'index' code for each type of box & what it went into from factory.
( There are too many variants to show 'em all )

Feel free to suggest any that I've missed or corrections to be made ... :)

Notes : This is a work in progress - Aim is it to include it in the Wiki page ... :D

 just realises I made an error in the list - Corrected ... :)

Added & revised Intro - 2 Jan 2013 ...

I could delete this when needed

you could add the 3 speed auto 4WD that was in the GLTA's of 1985 build , compliance plated up to at least 3/87 which was partially an E box by way of selecting the 4WD function with either the switch on the stick or the auto select function with kickdown, wiper or brake activation - main item of interest being 3.7:1 rear diff and 3.45:1 front diff ratio

Early models (i.e. EA powered models) do not have the id sticker on them but I have some info in some Factory Workshop Manuals if ever needed.

bumping so I can refer back to it myself - hardly anyone else in the room to be offended !

the silly things you do when four or five Subaru boxes are all over the floor :(

Actually I have stickers on a few of my EA boxes as shown here
