Six Cylinder Engines

Subaru ER Engine :

Water Cooled, Flat-Six, 12-Valve, SOHC,
  • ER-27: 2672 cc,
    Subaru XT ( 1987 – 1991 )
    • 145 hp @ 5,200 rpm.
Subaru EG Engine :

Water Cooled, Flat-Six, 24-Valve, DOHC, Quad Cam
  • EG-33: 3318 cc,
    Subaru Alcyone SVX ( 1992 – 1997 )
    • 230 hp @ 5,400 rpm.
Note : There are several variations for this model ...

Subaru EZ Engines :

Water Cooled, Flat-Six, 24-Valve, DOHC, Quad Cam
  • EZ-30D: 2999 cc,
    Outback H6, Legacy GT30 & Legacy Lancaster 6. ( 2000 – 2002 )
    • 220 hp ( 161 kW ) @ 6,000 rpm, 289 N·m @ 4,400 rpm.
  • EZ-30D: 2999 cc,
    Legacy 3.0R, Outback 3.0R & Tribeca ( 2003 – 2009 ) 2006–2008
    • 245 hp ( 180 kW ) @ 6,600 rpm, 297 N·m @ 4,200 rpm.
  • EZ-36D: 3629 cc,
    Legacy, Outback & Tribeca ( 2010 - current )
    • 260 hp ( 191 kW ) @ 6,000 rpm, 335 N·m @ 4,400 rpm.
Notes : There are various engine capacities for this model ... Revise list -1 Dec 2012 ...

Looks a bit like it, could be possible and I wouldn't put anything past the Aero guys. But this one hasn't got the equipment to swing a prop yet...hmmmmm :?

Factory fuel injection :) it wasnt just the EA81 turbo that got it either.

2004 subaru forester -gone
1999 subaru forester- no more :(
1989 subaru brumby- sold!
2008 zook jimny -sold!
2003 mitsubishi pajero - missus car
2013 nissan d22- set up for long distant touring

The MY series :)

yes Im being cryptic, I'm still looking for info myself. From what I understand it was a California based MY series (late model) that got injection. So far it is all myth and conjecture :)

Myths and conjecture are extremely hard to prove :) I couldn't even find the thread on USMB where I originally found the link to the picture.

I have read elsewhere that the JDM EA81 was available in MPFI as well, without a turbo. Finding proof well...

By the way that is the turbo motor :) have a look at the oil pump. I was hoping some one else would have info on the MPFI NA EA81.

Cosworth Subaru Engine Assemblies

Toss in a high flow Manifold + Dry sump & you have one mean machine ... :cool:

Just as a matter of interest, there was one of the F1 flat 12 engines advertised on ebay a few years back. $20,000 at the time. I wonder what ever happened to it.

Tried to find out & can confirm it was on e-bay ...

Notes: Haven't got round to all of these yet ( there are a quite a few that I know of though ... )

Also of interest is that although Fuji Heavy industries built Subaru Aircraft, they didn't have Subaru engines in them ... !
