WRX radiator into Serie 1 liberty

Does anyone know if a wrx radiator will bolt into a liberty? I am having problems with my car overheating while towing & highway driving with the air on. I have thought about fitting an oil cooler & will probably do that as well, but I imagine that a wrx radiator would work better than a liberty one & if it fits It would be a relatively cheap fix. Cheers, Rob.

i think they mount differently at the bottom (could be wrong) nothing a drill couldn't fix i dont think and you'll have a few outlets to block... but i'd say just look into an aftermarket radiator possibly dual core?

wrx radiator is taller and the support panel is different i believe. in the Gen 2s the RX and GT / GTb had the wrx radiator sized panel i think

rslibertyclub.org would have a definite answer

Forget it, they don't have a radiator cap, I tried everything to fit one in a n/a Impreza but gave up in the end, just couldn't get water into it through the available hoses. Also the mount is about 25mm lower on the WRX and it's not a little job, lots of unpicking & welding involved.

I'd say your radiator might be clogged or you've got a thermostat or head problem, mine has been running a >280HP STI motor for 6yrs on a standard Lib radiator and never been past half way whether in the sand or on the track.

I second that. My car has a standard liberty radiator cooling a h6 with zero issues, including when towing a car at 100km/h for 2 hours.
