Post by caboolture » Thu Oct 30, 2008 5:01 pm

Trying to work out what my 9 month 1991 Liberty GX awd Wagon is.
Is it a series 1 or 2 ? does have a gen 1 or 2 tag and will original gen 2 1996 outback rear struts/coil bolt straight on. It has a 3 '' lift.

Check out this thread mate > http://ozliberty.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11939

I think you should put a thread up in the 'my ride' section, would like to see more shots of the lib :) (may help us tell you what you have ;))

Also, if it is a s2... Yes gen2 (96 - [beginning of 98]) outback struts will swap straight in, rear and front.

looks like a s2. 91 was the crossover year- the later ones obviously s2. easiest way i reckon is check the headlight- if the inner edge is dead straight- series 2, if slightly rounded- s1.

the car you have is a gen 1 series 2 for sure....the outback front struts will fit it the front but the backs wont as the springs are tapered...you will need to go to a shocky place and get some to fit...fulcrum do them.....or the other option is put in 2 or 3 inch stut tops and give it a suspension lift that way...not to sure is you could put your springs and tops on the outback rear to fit?

Every Subaru model year starts the year before, although it appears to change which month it starts with each model.
