Are these GPS in these phones any good? any problems? Since my contract is nearly finished and would like to start hunting for a new phone... have eyes on phones that has GPS in them.
Cheers

I've got the regular N95... not the 8gb.

I am having issues with the GPS taking forever to find the satellites. Nokia reckon its a common fault too... as soon as I get time I will be sending it to them for service.

The supplied Nokia software does not include voice navigation. You have to pay a fair bit extra for that, and given that even when the GPS was working it wasn't that great compared to my brother's Garmin, this simply isn't worth it.

I have used aftermarket navigation software too... although this was after the GPS died and I was using it to see if it was a software or hardware fault. The program I used was called Amaze GPS and it was very slow and unwieldy.

The best features that the N95 has over my old 6280 is WLAN capability, good graphics / gaming capability, 5MP digital camera with decent zoom and long battery standby (3-4 days without much use).

if you want proper gps get a navman or the likes. phone gps are too recent to be as good. i just got the n95 8g. only because it has a good antenna and great camera/video. haven't tried the gps but i wouldn't rely on it anyway. best to go with maps and gps or if u like adventure... just take ur sense of direction. (when i feel xtremely adventurous i ask my fiancee for directions)

funny how you finds threads like this the day after you buy a new phone....

I really wanted the N95 but they don't have a hardwired car kit available for it so went with the LG TU550 instead. Sadly no GPS though.
