This is very common with the electronic dash clusters in the 83-84 Touring Wagons. I'd suggest pulling it out and send to an electronic specialist. I know someone that could do this but would need to ask him before I put his name forward.

yea i found after mass googling that it is common...i was hoping there was also a common fault or week link in it somewhere that could be easily fixed...im in launceston tasmania...there is a guy here i know that can do them...pretty sure the only dash specialist in town...but he quoted me up at $500 upfront...with no guarantee he could even fix it...iv pulled it out last night thought it might be loose or corroded connection...but no luck...

if you could maybe ask him to private msg me that would be amazing or my email is [email protected] im happy to post it and make a payment for repair aswell...

Sorry for not replying earlier. Did you get it fix or do you still need help?
