Rear Disc and power steering for Brumby

Post by badga880 » Sat Aug 17, 2013 8:01 am

Hi all
Does anyone have rear discs for a brumby for sale and power steering parts or can head me in the right direction to chase some up and I know this is the wrong place but anyone know a good Subaru engine rebuilder on or around the Gold Coast
Thanks

Re the engine rebuild, you could try perFOURmance motorsports at Slacks creek 3808 4244 or Scorpion Subaru at Capalaba or I have a very good running 2nd hand complete ea81 for sale, (still in the car so you can test). PM if interested.

I might have a Liberty rack that has been modded to fit a Brumby. Will have to pay for postage from Geraldton WA though and it may not fit AusPost limits so will have to be couriered. If you can wait 5 weeks I am going to Perth and can courier from there for about $10 probably. Let me know if your interested.

Plenty more questions to follow from a newby suby owner.

Mate theres a wrecking yard in Blackbutt Q'ld about 120 ks west of Brisbane, and the Guys there says he has 4 rear brake disc kits complete of Vortex.s and they fit Brumby Rear . U MUST get the backing plate no good without it. GOT to make sure u get the Vortex/L Series REAR calipers,Backing plate, hoses, and hub. NO GOOD without those parts. They going price is $700.00. his Ph No.is 0402559483. DON'T PAY TILL U SEE AND INSPECT THE GOODS.Must be right parts.

$700 .. sweet zombie jesus. I thought $500 was steep. Make sure they're from a 4wd Vortex not 2wd...
1989 Brumby - Shiny new red paint, stroked EJ20 phase 2 SOHC with Darton sleeves bored to EJ22, Wiseco high-compression pistons, Delta 2000 grind cams , EJ/XT6 5 stud with WRX 4/2 pots, 5-speed, 86 GTS seats and so much more.
Contact me for reproduction XT6 hubs...and EA82 rear discs.

Pretty much what I thought too!

I realise they are scarce but I would have thought less people actually need them these days!

Have to agree about price makes slotted and drilled front discs new pads new rear shoes adjusted properly and a fluid flush looking good on price the car has lasted 20 years with these brakes but will speak to them to see if price is a bit negotiable and thanks again for all the info
