you will likely want to confirm clutch dimension before you buy to ensure spline count to suit 5 speed box to your flywheel.
You wanna drift this, yet pay to have work done ? Where is the fun ?
Surely some engineer has calculated a power formula required to drift. Does your intended build meet that ?

Chin up man, there are a large amount of conversions
done by backyarders with minimal exp that have been
very successful.
Just read read read read read.
From what I have seen, it really is not all the difficult
with the right tools and friends.
Where exactly are you located?
And I agree, the fun is in building it and enjoying
what you have made.
Cheers

EJ22 donor would be cheap. surely one of the most popular backpacker vehicles in Aus, so always a few going cheap and needing to be sold ASAP. Why not go a 99- Libery with the Ej25 SOHC?subarubrumby wrote:this is my final plan..
EJ22 motor ecu loom.
ej22 gearbox.crossbred conversion kit.
diff off the donor car. ej22 diff,
custom 2 piece tail shaft ??
the ej22 brakes.
L series control arms etc for the camber.
brass button clutch
and WRX coilovers in the front. SOUND GOOOOOOD ? any tips or hints ?
Liberty/WRX brakes is best done with a Crossbred conversion kit, it basically lets you bolt in the liberty/wrx suspension and brakes in.

If you're building a track/drift pig then why not go the whole hog and get a WRX halfcut with brakes/gearbox etc. I think half cuts go for around the 2-3 mark? Maybe 4 for an STI. It's almost the same effort as doing all the EJ22 gear but a heap more awesome. Obviously intercooler and hyraulic gearbox adds some complications over an EJ22.
