2007 MY08 Foz X white man DR, lift, bar

Post by cooloothin » Sun Apr 25, 2021 9:40 pm

Hi all, forum looks pretty quiet these days but maybe this ad will help someone.

Getting ready to sell my daily driver of the last 9 years. Not yet listed anywhere, get in early if you also miss your ea81 and want something that reminds you of it, but newer.

Item............................... 2007 MY08 Forester X white 5sp manual dual range, 250+ thou KMs (will update odo shortly). OEM towball, pro-rack whispbar roof racks, cargo barrier, Supercheap auto 900x1200 roof basket if you want it.

Description......................all Springs and shocks replaced 2018ish with new Kings giving a 1inch lift, subaxtreme bullbar - the moulded one in body bumper grey with chromed bar work, subaxtreme sump guard, Yokohama geolander ATS in great condition, serviced extensively over the last 5 or so years with Techworkz Automotive in ACT who are a private Subaru specialist who rally Rex's with Forester support vehicles, there is not a thing these guys don't know about these vehicles and this one drives like it's brand new as a result.

Condition........................... Tyres excellent, paint fair (usual chips and scrapes for an off-road vehicle but no delaminating), interior good, mechanical excellent. No accidents. Owner before me was ACT rural Fire service. You'd be the third owner. This is not a Sunday vehicle - it has bumped over terrain that always resulted in "serious" 4wds giving us "what the?" looks, even before the lift. It has done a LOT of dirt for a busy family, a bit of rock, hardly any corrugations (no major routes like Oodnadatta etc, never found the time) and only two very fun sand days at Stockton after which it was thoroughly pressure sprayed. It has a lot of highway km as well and about 250km/wk around town over the ten years with us, but this is Canberra town, so almost zero stop-start traffic. This means any issues have been well shaken out over its time with us and the service history means it feels and runs much much younger. You can jump in it right now and head off on your big lap of Aus feeling ready to go, or hand it to your p-plate son or daughter who wants to head bush, knowing this will get them home again.

Location .......................... ACT, can deliver within 500km if the drive looks fun. Further if you're willing to reimburse beyond just petrol.

Price................................ TBA, probably the Redbook price for its age and km with a bit added on given the bar, sump, springs, tyres and excellent mech condition. Redbook currently says $5753-6359. I'm not trying to make any money on this sale, I have already moved on in vehicles and just want a fair price and am willing to undercut myself a bit if you or the person you're buying it for reminds me of myself ten years ago.. i.e. any good home that will love her as we have will get a great deal. My first car at 17 was an 84 sportswagon and it lasted me 13 years. This Forester has given us many adventures and camping memories before kids and with kids, and it has many more to give.

Contact ............................ PM on here for now or reply to thread. Will be on Carsales eventually once I clean it up, do photos and nut out a price that's fair for non Subaru enthusiasts.

Todo:
it's due for next major service and I will be getting that done before sale.
One of the sand runs bent one lip of the sump guard, but this is why to have one! Will be getting that straightened; no functional issue it just looks a bit odd.
The headlights have a bit of condensation. New ones cost a fortune but will likely be getting that done as I'm not sure if a NSW rego inspector would complain about it.

Extras if interested:
I also have a second set of 16 inch Forester steel rims with highway tyres so you can get mileage or climbing.
I also have a tow hitch mounted rear cargo tray that we used a lot, it's powder coated steel, Aus made, has a riser bar to improve departure angle. Like using a roof basket but saves on drag.
RIP: stock '84 Sportswagon 4sp SR (sold after 13 years loyal service, to the wreckers for $100 :( )

'08 79V Forester X 5sp DR + subaxtreme bullbar, sump guard, Yoko geo ATS, kybs & 1inch kings (daily driver and go-anywhere tourer)
