1.59:1 L series low range

Up for sale: 1.59:1 L series low range for a conversion into an EJ box (or turbo L series low range upgrade)

Asking $250 plus postage.

Condition: second hand - all gears etc look good, no discolouring, chips or nicks. Removed from an L series that looked like it lived its life on the black top.

Comes with: everything you need to convert your 1.19:1 EJ low range to 1.59:1. I’ll include a four bolt input shaft housing for the later model boxes (Gen1 phase 1 is three bolt like the L series).

Conversion write up here - please read! 4.111 and 4.44 diff crown wheels will need to be shaved to clear the larger low range gears.

This is not a direct drop in - three machine work components are needed to be completed first as per the conversion details in the link. Not for the faint hearted or the “she’ll be right”. Please find a solution to fitting prior to purchase, or have an oily paperweight!

Message here or PM.

Local pickup available for non-lock down ppl (sorry, not sorry!), package located in Bendigo.

Pics coming of parts disassembled. I didn’t think to get one with the gearbox split, but can display a pic of a split L series box if wanted.

Cheers

Bennie

Pics!

One the left is the low range gear including the L series three bolt input bearing housing. On the right is the more common four bolt input bearing housing. You will need bearing part number 806228160 to do the conversion.

Let me know if you want a postage quote. I just need an appropriate box to fit it into, then I’ll be sorted to get postage quotes ;)
