MY/Brumby adjustable radius rods

Well this is more of an EOI, to see if it's worth going ahead and getting them all made.
Some time back I embarked on getting some custom adjustable radius rods made for my wagon project, made form aircraft grade chrome molybdenum 4130 steel. They are longer than standard (pic below) with about 50mm overall possible adjustment. This will give your car a more positive castor angle i.e front strut "leaning backwards" which will move the wheel further away from the firewall for those wanting to fit bigger wheels/tyres, and improve the front end geometry and steering.
I bought enough material to get a few sets made, in all there will be 3 pairs up for grabs. They aren't made up yet because of the cost in machining etc. If I get buyers for all 3 sets I will go ahead and get them all made up. They can use the original rubber bushes, or aftermarket urethane bushes it's up to you.
The price for a pair of these will be $150. They are professionally machined with screw cut threads and include all washers and nuts (2 x nylocs, 4 x adjustment/locking nuts, 4 x dished washers and 2 x bushing sleeves) The material is seriously tough stuff, you will never bend one.
And a disclaimer to cover my own arse:
These parts are designed for offroad use only!!! Just like all lift kits and adjustable strut tops! Cars with these installed may no longer be "roadworthy" depending on your local laws regarding vehicle modifications.

would these benefit a lowered brumby? (running a X-Bread kit)

I'm not familiar with what the x-bread kit includes, but if it still has the stock lower control arms and radius rod mounting points I can't see there being a problem.
The benefits of longer rods has been talked about alot on here, a search digs up a few discussions. Mostly in the past people have used longer rods out of a different car and cut/drilled them to work.

If you are using brumby control arms yes, I believe so. Even if you have longer (L series) control arms it would still probably improve handling. More positive castor equals more negative camber when cornering equals more precise handling characteristics. Too much can mean your back end can slide out and wrap around a tree. So far there's not been enough interest to get them all made up

Probably the price is too high.
I could maybe bring them down to $120 a pair but that would be less than it costs to make them including material and man hours to machine everything.

Just an update to those who were wondering; Yes they are taking a little longer than expected

but are definitely going ahead. They should be all finished one fortnight from now.
I haven't been able to find anyone with a power hammer or any blacksmiths for that matter. So it's going to be manual heating and pounding with a sledge hammer which I have to help in doing (This is how my prototypes were made and they came out fine) The guy who is making them is busy all this week coming so will start them the week after.

Yet more delay, sorry guys

The guy who's making them went on holiday for a week. Also with my help being required to swing a BFH and only available on weekends makes it harder.
Rest assured they will get done!

Are there some reccomendations for wheel alignment settings when fitting adjustable radius rods, I mean aside from just stopping oversized tyres rubbing?
I have been getting complaints from the better half that now she has power steering, she can't feel what's going on & is thus more likely to spin out on dirt roads. I've already had some thread spun onto the factory rods to simply adjust to factory spec, but I'll probably get them tweaked to full length now I've read Phil's article.
I had to pedal it through the hills in a hurry yesterday & it certainly doesn't handle like my Mini, but the tyres are rubbish so I'm not expecting lots. Some more steering feedback would be good though. Actually so would some better brakes...
At least the 14x5.5 cosmic wheels are looking nice now.
Anyhoo.
