L Series & some earlier parts - lots to go. Now have a Forester :)

Post by penguin » Wed Feb 20, 2013 1:22 pm

We have a couple of decades accumulation of Subie spares, mostly L series but also some 82 model parts as well.

Dual range gearbox

EA81 & EA82 motors, had been stored outside so more for parts than restoration even though they were both working when removed from vehicles.

Carby & manifold
headlights
tail light x 1
Brakes
Tailshaft
rear axels
front axels
white doors off a L series, no rust, straight and with windows, no tail gate
starter motor
alternator
king springs
brake master cylinder & servo unit
white synraysia rims from an 82 wagon x 4
rear diff L series
main dash instrument L series
tow bar L series
Possible a bullbar for L series

etc
etc
etc

very very cheap, perefer to sell the lot, bring a big trailer and take it all away for a very reasonable price

located 4km from Numeralla, about 30km from Cooma, NSW 2630.

I like the Forester but it kinda laks the zip the L series seemed to give, The forester is much quieter, smoother to ride in. But I shudder when I look under the bonnet !

G Day Penguin.

I'm just down at Bemboka. Don't want to take the lot sorry but maybe the lights in case I need them later... (hoping I don't ...)

Interested in the bullbar also. Any way of telling if it is for an L ?

I can check the bullbar when i go out to the property on the weekend, then let you know. If I took a photo, would you be able to tell if it was for an L series ?

I have no experience in the area and would have no idea sorry.

If you post a photo here maybe a more clever person can help us work it out. Which measurements to check etc.

If we can't work it out online it's not like I'm too far away. If needed I could meet you sometime and see if it fits.

Is there really an EA 81 motor or both EA82s? I'm not that far away and shouldn't be interested in any more than your L alternator but because I know exactly where numeralla is and its less than 100k's away i'm keen in the EA 81 motor and L series box (if dual range.
P.S. maybe able to drop parts off to a courier (E-GO) on my way back if anyone else is interested in parts.
87 targa brumby (Neglected),
92 targa brumby (weekend runabout),
97 Lifted Outback (Dailey drive),
05 outback safety (Too cheap to pass up),
90 model liberty (was to be scrapped instead sold to workmate)
+ others.

Sorry for the slow responses, been away trekking in Nepal for a month.

There is one EA81 and one EA82, the EA81 came out of our 1983 or 84 pre L series wagon. It is not complete had some bits removed like oil pump, water pump, though I have those bits loose somewhere.

Dual range gearbox came out of a 1988 L series, it is dual range, etc. Did not drive the vehicle as we bought it for parts and stripped it, that was the source of most of the L series bits.

The bullbar is SOLD.

The whole lot goes for $200, bring a big trailer as there are some great doors (white) and some panels. Would also consider swapping the bits for some 2000 Forester parts.

Hi Penguin, would you have a working distributor for an ea81?
I live in Michelago and work in Cooma so pickup is no problem.
You have some good panels you say? Who knows, I might take the lot!

The panels off the L series are in very good condition, done have any off early 80 models though.

There should be an email link available if you want to talk more.
