This vehicle is still an interest to me, AC works all good i guess cause youve re-gased it.

Does that model have the 110kW 2.0 DOHC engine? Im assuming from those pictures cause is see DOHC on the engine.

Says 16 Valves on the one of the engine pictures so im guessing that means its DOHC, not a SOHC. I thought 8 valves would mean its SOHC. Im might be wrong.

So the engine would be the 97kW 2.2L SOHC then, yes??

its a boxer engine - SOHC = 2 cams

So what the power output on that engine variant??

"x"kW @ "x"rpm

"x"Nm @ "x"rpm

Somebody should know these specifications?? I want to do a comparasion with other cars.

Except for turbo EJ20G (1989) in RS liberty, early 90's WRX etc but those are only EJ20. Ej22 yeah only much later models in dohc.

Yes common confusion. 2 cams but still only 1 cam per head so sohc.
dohc ones are sometimes called Quadcam engines.

Im pretty sure the SOHC 2.2 Motor has 100 kW at 6000 rpm.
Not sure on what the torque is on it though
They haul quite nicely and are fuel efficient!

That is a nice looking Liberty Too!! :P

Heres the information i was looking for. Found it on redbook.

Engine: EJ22, NA, 2.2L
Power: 100kW @ 6000rpm
Torque: 189Nm @ 4800rpm

Same power as a current model Toyota Corolla, but the Corolla doesnt have that extra 14Nm where you need it most, not at the end of the rev range.

Just comparing engine output from late 20th century car engines to that of today. I love the old Subaru's as well as the old AE86 Corolla and all but the new Corollas drive like shit with crappy torsion beam rear suspension and huge A and C pillars where you cant see shit when parking or overtaking. Would be cool if some of those older naturally aspirated Subaru engines just had that little bit more power. Like my old Leone's EA82 it needed more than 72kW of power, i tried everything from running it on 98RON and weight shedding to make that car just a little bit quicker.
