Hey sorry Mr wagon, I wouldn't have ranted if I'd known it was you selling, just thought you'd found it on ebay.
No it wont hurt the atmosphere (so long as it was R134a gas) but yes it will hurt the system if left open too long.
Just tape up or fit small plastic bags over all pipes and open ends of condenser and evaporator, if it was only yesterday it will be fine

No problems I have capped off all ends and taped over. (Not the right caps]... But thanks for letting me know what I was missing. I will add it to the pile.
Cheers

You need to read up on the environmental damage R134a does - it may not damage the ozone layer but it's certainly a big polluter!!!
1983 wagon: Does the AC come with the wiring required to operate it? All I can make out in those pics is the pipe work etc, no wires other than the dash switch...
Cheers
Bennie

Yeah I know Bennie!! Its a 'super' greenhouse gas, up to 2000 times more so than carbon dioxide! Was only thinking Ozone layer for the purpose of the comment
Mr wagon...if you like, I can send you pics of the exact underdash wires/relay/fuse assy's you would need to sell with the system.
John.
