95cm Flattie in Noosa River

Post by stinky » Sun Mar 23, 2008 6:03 pm

Hit the noosa river with some mates in our kayaks, a few decent fish boated I thought I had fish of the day with a 62cm flattie, but then trolling back to the cars one of the guys hooked this fella in 500cm of water.

We actually had to get out of the kayaks to wrestle her down. Took a bunch of glory photos and sent her home. No scales, but I'd bet she was at least 7kg.

was caught on 10 pound leader on an SX-40

Hehe another subaru kayak fisho :) Must be something about the car.

Beaut flatty mate, must have been a fight. The sx40 would have hardly been a spec in it's eye.

Just a tip, not good to hold any fish that big with lip grippers :)

Yarney, nope not yet, every time I plan a trip offshore we get bad weather, A few of the guys I fish with have been known to chase tuna off bribie and other spots though. Can't wait until conditions are good and I can get offshore.
