Fishing out of Karratha

Post by TOONGA » Sun Apr 08, 2012 1:55 pm

On Easter Saturday we loaded up the crane drivers boat and headed out of Karratha to the end of the Burrup Penisula to this spot.

the downside of that was this :( note I'm holding the rod still and this is the second round with little but bile coming up ... mmmmmm bile.

the upside of that were these, the long tom about a minute after I chucked up, the trout about 10 minutes later.

I'm not sure how many fish we lost but hooks were straightened, fish dove under ledges to stop from being brought up... it was a great day the coral trout I'm holding was 45cm long, the long tom was just over a metre, the skipper out did me with a 50cm coral trout and a 1.3 meter long tom.

awsome fun and coral trout for dinner :)

Yeah it worked well, but the taste it left in my mouth was there until I ate the coral trout :)

Bile = his vomit
Berley is used to attract fish.
Hope this helps.

It is amazing how one post from a person in Nigeria makes this a "hot" topic :)

I'm waiting for offers of tens of millions of dollars :)

I must remember the toothpaste in the tackle box :)

when I get back from Australind (yep home for a week) we are going out again, hopefully to the "cathedral" we found on the way back last time.
