What are these? do they accumulate on the amount of minutes that we have spent on the forums??

i think they have something to do with the amount of minutes you have been on the forum, or the amount of refreshs?

you get points for contribution to the site. It's a default behaviour, I've never really looked into exactly how it accumulates but I think it goes off numbers of posts.

You get points for using the site. New topics add "xx" amount of points, replying adds "x". Submitting news or articles adds points as does using sponsors links, downloading, voting in polls etc.

The more effort you put in the higher the points you get. That is simply posting on the board gives minimal points where submitting articles or news gains higher point value.

With the points sytem we can set "user levels" or have areas for members with high points to use. Sort of a super user club type thing. At the moment we don't have any special things set up and may never go that way. It does give admin an idea of who is putting in time and effort towards the site.

Then how come I have 3200 odd points and Jaffa only has half that but has posted 3 times more than me, all I do is post.

From what I've gathered, you get:
-1 point for clicking on any forum link
-1 point for refreshing a page
-7 points for posting a new topic
-3 points for replying to an existing topic
-3 points for editing an existing post

I don't know if there are any other situations, but yeh don't take those figures as gospel either!

What about for deleting other people's posts?

WOOHOO for two reasons
