Damn Brett, can we have MattS as a moderator?!?

This is something that's been floating around the ether for the last little bit, makes some interesting - and scary - reading.

Don't go to the link if you would like to cling to the belief that the internet is a dark cloak of annonimity, absolving and protecting it's wearer from the consequenses and reality of his actions.

This dude got seriously worked over on Pirate4x4.

The idiot deserved it though.

By the way, these guys don't play nice so if you feel the need to post on Pirate don't mention Ausubaru - whatever you do.

The long and the short of it:

Basically some punk kid tried to sell a normal sorta guy some brand new diff gears, changed the price then it was discovered that the gears were not brand new at all. Cashed the cheque but didn't send the gears.

MattS, Pirate4x4 Moderator, some law-talking guy, finds out who the dodgee seller is and posts much of his private info on the internet (under US Freedom of Information laws), including a picture of him.

In the end, we find out where he lives, what his telephone number is, what he looks like, what his parents do for work, that his uncle is a keyboard player in a rock band etc etc.

The really funny thing is he keeps changing his story the whole time, the gears are sent, the gears are still here, your cheque's in the mail blah blah blah. And Pirate really screw this guy over - all over $25.

I have just put in 1 hour non-chargeable time at work reading this gold.

Its killing me - need more coke. Its kinda boring now - apparently it gets good again around mid 20's

There was a post somewhere about a guy that was drifting and crashed a WRX or something through a fence and took out a house - that guy was taken apart just as badly.
