After seeing Paul's post in the Pics and Videos forum, I got to thinking (never a good thing!).

Cool places to see on Google Earth. I don't just mean "Hey I can see my house from up here!!"

I'll start (just cut and past the coordinates into the "find" box):
Wreck of the USS Arizona, Pearl Harbour. 21 21'53 N, 157 57'00 W

That looks pretty cool from space!

I've got a few to show...

90 Acres
32 13'20 S, 115 51'21 E

Kwinana Offroad Area
32 13'40 S, 115 47'34 E

Gooroolong National Park camping area (aka Jarrahdale)
32 20'17 S, 116 02'33 E

And of course there's my favourite offroad spot:
Area 51
37 14'18 N, 115 48'46 W

EDIT: Someone also found a "floating car" in Perth somewhere a while back, can't seem to find it but I think its around Salter Point somewhere....

If you change the N to an S you end up in..... well in the ocean out past Rottnest Island...

I think this is Lancelin, although someone will no doubt pull me up on it:

You know that runway in Area 51 (is it 32L?) is over 7 km long. The runway where the space-shuttle lands in Cape Canaveral is only 3 km long.

If all goes to plan I will be fishing here at this time next year. The crab pots will be a little further upstream.

Can anyone tell me why they don't build these off Australian rivers???

33°57'41.96 N, 118°27'37.99 W would save lives off bars, and can't see it doing *much* ecological damage :D

world landmarks are an odd thing when viewed from above. do you think i could find the eiffel tower ? i was staring right at it from above and couldna see it !

A word of warning to those that over do the google earth thing - find and practice some good stretches for the ulnar nerve - it cops a hiding the way most of us grab and steer the little mouse. Anti inflammatory drugs and topicals are good, as is ice pack !!
