marketing research for internet adverts.....

Post by steptoe » Fri May 11, 2012 9:07 am

there must be some real indepth consultation into marketing on the internet, getting the ads to have some relevance to the search topic, the demographics of the viewer......

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_is_the_ ... citroen_c5

While researching where a certain unmentionable car (sacre bleu) brake light switch is, the first line of advertising is for a gyneacologist offering various forms of * cough * surgery * cough *.

How probing is market research to suggest that if you own, drive or really trying to repair a Fwench car that you, or your partner may be interested in such surgery as well !! :D

I find it funny since I know someone with a new-ish Citrus and guess what failed when they tried to plug a trailer in? Yep, the rear brake lights, all of them...along with the light selector switch on steering column, controller which receives signal from the electric window switches....all from connecting a trailer

Anyway I use ad-block so I see no ads anywhere ;)
Will it ever end!?

Internet adverts - loads of money in this, not just in the actual advertising but in having the number of "hits" so that it loads at the top of the search engine page. A mate of mine is trying to get his new website up there when you type in the most relevant contents - how hard is it to find "arlberg minimart mt hotham"?? There's not a lot of other places that has that exact listing...

Then there's the spamming of adverts that have nothing to do with the search - its the same with ebay where they say that you're not to use item names that are not anything to do with your listing - you know the one's "subaru WRX, not mitsubishi etc etc"

It's also costly! I think I've mentioned that...

Cheers
