Metalicising?

No, not a new exercise regime, but does anyone know anywhere that you can get plastic things coated in metal to make them harder or stronger or stuff? Just out of interest.

You can get it chrome plated but it won't add any strength structurally, just on the surface.

Hmmm, tha's what I was thinking, bugger.
Anyone here do very light engineering then?
I have a plastic handled kitchen utensil that's be the best thing in the world, if only 'twere made of metal...

You could always go to Repco, Supercrap & buy the 2 pack plastic metal that will hold anything together & mould it over the item yourself, once it's set you can drill/file/sand pretty much do anything with it, a mate used it to fill a crack in his motor bikes sump & it lasted for years.

Make a mould from it and re-cast in metal...
