well I feel I am anyway, qualified to complain about poor driving displayed by one woman after the other day when one in an SUV with excellent visibility that goes with them, pulled out of a carpark entry/exit right in front of me in the work car (thank Murphy it wasn't me sube). I swerve to the right to avoid T boning her and any front end damage but she still got the back end, left rear door, wheel rim looks like it hit a gutter = instant deflation, and mashed in the left rear guard.

I stop within 10 metres so was not going very quick at all. All a bit shaken but no apparent immediate injuries. Miss apologises several times, then explains a driver travelling opposite direction to me had stopped and gestured to her to enter street (possibly to he could go in where she was coming out?) so "thought it was clear the other way" !!

I AM qualified arent I?

My recollection does not compute with that as I swerved to avoid and thought I had crossed the centre line- didn't hit no car. And witnesses ? No bystander hung around to be one.

As the hours passed by my back and neck began to feel stiff, one I never felt before, headache - still there next morning. Off to the doctors I go - thirty people in front of me before I get seen to! "Bugger this" , take short cut to the chemist asking for suggestions for whiplash? Nurofen + magnesium compound.Got an afternnon in the sun and stiffness starting to subside , headache fogs in and out. And guess what thoughts are entering my mind - this better not affect my subie tinkering.

Can it technically be the woman's fault. I'd suggest it is the fault of the driver who told the woman she was right to pull out..

Hope you pull up well from the accident anyhoo.

Absolute rubbish, your responsible for driving your own vehicle in a safe manner, you, nobody else, the woman clearly did not give way to traffic. Whoever or whatever is gesturing said vehicle to move is of no consideration at all, and does not absolve the foregoing statement.
Steptoe, you must have involved the Police did you not????

I agree that she is responsible for her actions, but I can tell you it does take a while before you learn to ignore some driving techniques that can lead to disaster. If I am giving way and see even just one car with an indicator suggesting they were to turn before me therefore not requiring me to continue giving way. I just say to self "seeing is believing" and wait for the car to either turn or go past with the old ticker still goin'.

I do hate seeing couteous gestures such as the one she claims she got if it any way loooks like it is going to cause anyone else using the roads to misunderstand what is going on.

Police report filled and filed, insurance claim made by 10.00am next day so the work car gets its fix week after next. I'll get myself checked out through the week. Thanks
