Whats in your driveway ?

Post by T'subaru » Mon Jan 05, 2009 3:28 am

Hi All,
Subaru's are taking over here. It started with a '90 Loyale turbo wagon. I purchased my '89 rx turbo late last Sept. The '09 corolla was purchased the end of march upon my return from a job I did in San Francisco that kept me away from home for almost a year. It was to be my daily driver as I told the missus and kids I would be home daily. Being home daily means a 286 mile round trip daily as they don't build tall buildings on the coast. Since getting the RX guess what car sits at home. I love everything about this car except it's apperance and it is in stock form for now. The wagon has it issues and once addressed the RX gets disassembled and gone thru before I drive it into the ground ( 19k miles since oct ). The real shame here is I purchased the corolla before owning my first subaru. At todays prices what I paid would have purchased a fine outback. Well, live and learn.
Cheers all, Mark

...ditto to that. Since i bought my Brumby, two Liberty's have popped up in the yard, and Mum bought a Forester.....

other than that, there's the old faithful 323 turbo wagon, and an MPV. Once i sell the MPV, the Lib wagon will take over as family car.

- 1993 Nissan Patrol TB42 Dual fuel - family truckster(got 5 stepdaughters so need the 7 seats!!)
- 1989 Soob Touring Wagon(the work hack and go-silly-in-the-Brindabellas car)
- 1991 Hyundai S Coupe - S/D number 1's car(sounds like a pimpmobile with a pussers 4 inch jam tin on the back)
- 1992 Hyundai S Coupe - S/D number 2's car(if she ever gets off her arse and gets her L's!!!)
- 1977 Leyland Mini S - 998cc overbored to 1018cc with drawthrough 40mm DHLA and a very small TO25 hairdryer from MG Metro and a frightening 96hp ATFW(when you are in something that weighs only 500kegs - it is frightening and very noisy!!)
- 2006 crummydore - S/D number 1's boyfriends car(nice bloke but car looks like a coke can after you have finished the coke!!)
- 1990 Lewis 18ft ski boat - 400 Chev with twin 500 cfm Holleys and external pipes(a bastard to ski behind as you are overwhelmed by fumes - putting the pipes through the hull and under the water!!). Good for 50 knots(about 110kph) and only 37 hours on the boat
- Postie step through bike - fun on Mt Taylor!:)

I think that is it...might have a look under the house and see what I have in the garage...:p

Absolutely - there are only European Carp where I ski anyway...and bloody eels!! Nothing like falling off and coming up with an eel attached to your big toe!

Besides the noise is unbearable - you need ear protection when skiing - it was my Fathers fault - he is probably looking down on me and laughing at me!

Hooroo - off to tinker on the Soob:D
