I've got one but no pics, just the story from a few months ago - standard height Gen II Liberty wagon (no lift at all)...

Got bored one afternoon and thought I'd get the barge over to the northshore and just look at the cutting. Looking ended up doing and I got down there no worries but quickly bogged it to the chassis trying to get back up. Got it out thanks to a friendly (and very amused) Hilux driver - let the tyres down to 16psi with some borrowed Staun deflators, used a bit more momentum and surprised everyone. With no lift at all but admittedly a bit too much momentum (3rd gear LR :p) it handled the reknowned soft cutting with ease. Collected a lot of sand but it could have done it all day.

With the small lift and an understanding of tyre pressures + momentum it'll never happen again...gotta learn somehow though.

I've been stuck way way worse than these before but prolly don't have pics.

At Jarrahdale I was driving along a track with everyone which had some really boggy sections you could easily drive around. I decided to drive right into one and yeah, got stuck;

This one was at Pippidini dunes. I reversed up a track and misjudged the bend. Kinda drove off the edge abit and laid the belly along the ridge;

hehe, all these photos could easily be converted to the classic "FAIL" format with that word subtly inserted here and there.
Better be careful one of the "real 4x4" forums doesn't catch wind of this thread with all our awesome Subaru's looking terrible offroad :)

i got stuck in this same spot before andrewt, got towed out, told him to go around or use more speed, and you can guess the rest.

One of my efforts above. This is what happens when you show off trying to go through things to slowly.

And the one below is just in case the "proper" 4wd fellas see this thread. The hilux belongs to one of the members on this board. We will see if he owns up to it. :D

Bogged the tractor 3 times last weekend, got out of 'the situation' twice, but it was the third one, where I had to make a phone call...

Good read fellas!

Unfortunately I do not have pics of my first ever bog - it was a pretty stupid move for several reasons, but some of the story first.

I was on my teaching rounds last semester, had a couple of days off and needed to set up an orienteering course out at the monument area. I'd driven around it before it rained, worked out there were two large areas where water would gather.

The day I went out to set up said course it had been raining. Both holes had filled and the first one I nervously went in - no lift and roadies remember here - cruised through feeling pretty proud. Cruised along to the other one where some blokes had to move their hilux for me to pass, they were cutting wood.

Now, the powers of deuction should have kicked in, cos I knew there was one of the holes that I couldn't drive through even when it was dry... This is where I put a little bit of throttle in to give me some momentum just as I went in only to have the engine crossmember dig itself in leaving the wheels spinning... I couldn't get out on my own so I grabbed the snatch strap and asked the two blokes if they didn't mind giving me a snatch out.

They had a blown front diff but did it anyway, it was surprising how well the rear tow hitch held up, I thought it would've moved.

I had a chat to the boys and found out they actually lived in the town local to me and grew up giving subi's their best. It was a good snatching experience. I went and did the other hole again just to let me know I could still drive through water...

That should give you a mental pic of what happened.

The last time I was stuck - "what do you do with 1/3 tank of fuel and an afternoon?" thread - I also didn't have the camera :evil:

and to make matters worse, gear selectors jammed half in reverse (needed to use crowbar and mallet to get it out) and stripped half of reverse gear

My easiest one was in my old VC commodore playing around in the mud and stirred it up a little too much. Got stuck and on defence property might I add so while wondering what to do put it in third and let it idle while I got out and pushed, worked a treat gave me just enough momentum to get moving again and jump in and drive it out plus being 80 Kgs lighter could have helped!
