I have been in touch with a rather keen bean in the UK. says he registered for membership to this forum a lifetime ago - never worked or completed through for him.

Should he register again ? Same username or new ?

How long should he wait from next registering to being notified of acceptance?

He wants to be part of this community, can be vouched for as being human, owns a Subaru or two, has an email address ...what more .....? does he need to get in and running?

Has he paid for the Subscription fee ? That would be one way to ensure membership ... :)

Contact Yarny ( Jan ) & Send the details to him would be the other ... ;)

Cheers, Bantum ...

He got this

"you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:"

Think I have had this from time to time misadventuring in here.

If you read the registration detail, says is free !

Funny thing is, the username he got the note on , is not in the meber list, nor is the name he wanted - not allow him

and to reapply with his email address - says it is already known to the forum.

Can a mod - do we still have them ? - do a search againts his email addy to be supplied by PM to who ?? Outback Bloke ?

I reckon this is one reason why the forum has slowed in recent years. The barriers put in place to stop spambots etc are actually turning people away.

It's probably time to look into a new system or a forum update!

My thoughts anyway.

hmmm, a more accurate description of the problem is filtering through ...

exhibit A

"you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Dufus, Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation"

My guess is, is waiting for activation

Moderators can only edit the site, we can go into a user profile but can't change there status :(
