He hasn't been on here for ages, wish he was to explain what's going on here! :p vacuum formed? fiberglass? 3D printed?

Plastics can be chromed, just would be fragile/crack easily compared to the old metal ones. But still better than what most people have i.e nothing at all :)

Earth to Giles! Explain!!!

Yeah, I get it... Not particularly a fan of Facebook but so many people into old Subarus use it, which means you might miss out if you're not on there.

So we'll ban him for not sharing info on stuff he's made so he really cannot share any info?! Have I got this correct?

Maybe Steptoe should be banned for a week or two for such a ridiculous suggestion

already survived a lifetime ban if you may recall :D

And, if by now you still not worked out my sense of humour, was a bit tongue - in - cheek to get Giles to drop in and apologise :)

Facebook is killing the forums.
its everyones fault, if no one joined the facebook groups, we would all still be here.

I'm getting old!

Nah mate you're not getting old. I totally agree with you! Just the ease of access and posting pics is the attraction.

But try to search for something from a week ago and it's almost impossible! This is where the forums have it over bookface!

ease of access to facebook ... are you kidding? From what I have seen of it - appears to be a secret how to use and access it, and it seems everyone needs to read a blow by blow of everything posted to wade through verbal diarrhea to get the chunky bits of any worth. I need to read a facebok for dummies to get the drift of its breakup, functions and how it all works. What I have found amusing is that people who have been running by usernames in forum world all of a sudden are exposing themselves to the world by their given names. Must look up some of my old teachers and see what they are up to :p

Could not agree more!

FB is only any good for sharing photos, or posting a photo of a problem and saying "HELP!!!" It is no good for trying to find detailed information from years past, if anyone has even posted detailed information. You need to find the "group" that relates to old Subarus where everyone should post their photos of old Subaru stuff, and if you weren't watching when someone posted photos/info of their super amazing replacement Brumby tailgate trim, it gets buried under the next 100 photos from other users and good luck finding it after that.

Forums like this will never die out :) Sure this particular one has gone a bit quiet recently, but other forums on other topics are still booming. Maybe it's time we made an Ausubaru.com facebook group (actually I think there is one already) to tell everyone about how great this forum is and links to useful info etc.
