Thank god! Felt like I lost a limb for a couple of days :p

Huge thanks to the mods for dealing with this, indeed a tedious behind the scenes job. Seems like the site is almost being purposefully attacked, but why? Not like there's any money to valuable information to be gained...well valuable to anyone but Subaru enthusiasts :o
Will it ever end!?

I'm changing web hosts. It was panic by the current we hosts that shut the site down. If they looked in to it they could see that we had been inundated with spam on our registration page. They simply chose to shut us down instead of helping. It is going to take a while to migrate to a new server. There is about 14 years of backups to download and upload. There is gigs of data to be transferred and it is slow going because of my weak internet service. (Says its adsl but I'm right at the end of the exchanges reach and it's pitifully slow)

The migration should be seamless. If there is down time it will hopefully only be late at night. There is the Facebook page where people can keep up to date should things go wrong.

The registration process for new users will be enabled again once I get things sorted out.

I deleted mine. My computer doesn't like viruses.

I love how the web address looks legit until the ".rnrnh" part...

Sadly I would say the users account was "hacked" like Frogs attempted hack.

the list below are the worst of 2014

1) 123456
2) password
3) 12345
4) 12345678
5) qwerty
6) 1234567890
7) 1234
8 ) baseball
9) dragon
10) football
11) 1234567
12) monkey
13) letmein
14) abc123
15) 111111
16) mustang
17) access
18 ) shadow
19) master
20) michael
21) superman
22) 696969
23) 123123
24) batman
25) trustno1

If you use a simple password your account will be very vunerable. a mixture of uppercase lower case and numbers make it way harder for people to guess your password.

something like W4r7h0g is way harder to guess or bruteforce than warthog.

And now I can never use that as a password

Something needs to be done about all these “payday loan members” that have become very active on the forum... dunno if they’re human or bot.

There must be sixty or more of these posts with what appear to be links to dodgy websites (not going to try one of those FYI).

Looking forward to ridding the forum of these posts and “members”.

Cheers

Bennie

Yeah, I'm happy to volunteer my services as a Mod to keep that sort of gear of this valuable forum.
