wont remember me

Post by brumbyrunner » Thu Nov 02, 2006 6:30 am

Why do I have to log on every time I visit? I have ticked the "remember me" box to no avail. I do have a new computer ( and it's not a Mac ) so maybe something is out of whack?

Try this. Up the top of IE go to Tools then internet options. Click Privacy, again at the top and then Sites. When the box opens type in ausubaru.com and then click Allow. Click OK and then close it all. Click Ctrl and F5 at the same time. That will clear the cache. See if that works. If not, use Firefox.

It worked!
Thanks Brett.
I was on the phone for over an hour with a techie today and we finally got my screensaver to work. Turned out to be a startup program blocking it or something. You know, I really wanted to get a Mac but aparantly the modems work to fast for satellite broadband so I needed a $900 ethernet connection(?) to make it work. And no local support sucks too.

Be aware that there can be options to clear temporary internet files and cookies when you close your browsers or restart your PC, if these are selected then the cookies will go and it won't remember you.

Also there are some anti-spyware tools and other "system cleaners" that will clean your cookies, again, resulting in loss of the important Ausubaru cookie that remembers you.

Sorry to dredge up an old post, but it seems Bigpond were right. Their original 2-way broadband satellite modem could not handle Mac or Linux. I ended up buying their stupid ethernet modem, not only for Mac but to set-up a wireless network. Other satellite customers started running into the same problem when they "upgraded" to Vista as it wouldn't work on the old modem either.
What they didn't tell us was that my plan cost would increase by 50%. I hit the roof and they admitted they had another newer modem that would work with the latest OS, I could stay on my original plan, but it would cost another $600. Needless to say I, didn't pay for mine and It's been running great for nearly a year.
